The summer term is all about performing, Class 2 are learning all about the Circus!
Class 2 had a slightly different launch this term as it wasn't to do with our topic but more about the characteristics of learning. They joined the whole school at Whisby Nature Reserve where they created fires, followed orienteering maps and built dens using natural materials. It was a fantastic day, all of the children had such a lovely time and it was great to see them all work together!
As this was the first day back after Easter, the children were very excited to see the classroom the following day.
They were welcomed by a lovely clown and the entrance to a circus tent.
The classroom has been set up to feel like a circus.
Across the term we have been learning all about the history of the circus, written a narrative based on the Queen's Nose and will be experiencing a circus skills taster session from a real life clown!
Class 2 will also be visiting Lincoln's Theatre Royal, to learn hands on how performances are put on and all the hard work that goes on in the background.
