Christmas 2023

Christmas at North Scarle Primary School

We are incredibly excited and keen to share and celebrate this wonderful time of year with your children and you. There’s lots coming up and to make a real success of it, we must work together and we really do rely on your support.

  • Thursday 30th November – Lights Switch On, Sing and Lantern Parade

We are working super hard in school to learn songs and prep some lovely performances by the whole school, classes and our brilliant choir. Hopefully, you’ll be hearing some singing at home. Do encourage this. Choir have been sent song words home, so it’d be great for them to hear the songs at home and be able to sing along with them.

Friends of School are providing refreshments on the night. Please join us from 4.30pm. We are hoping to begin the switch on from 4.45pm and will need children back into school to be part of this.

After school club is still available on this evening, with children being handed over once the singing has concluded.

We are looking forward to seeing the children’s lantern competition entries this year. The top 3 from each class will be awarded prizes on the night and then, of course, we will parade around the village. Please encourage friends and neighbours to join us/look out for us. We’ll be aiming to leave school around 5.30pm.

  • Friday 8th December – Christmas Fair – 2 til 4pm

Each class will be creating a Christmas craft and selling these on their class stall along with an additional stall which will be a fun game or yummy treat.

School Council are hoping to run a few stalls but we definitely need your help for this to happen. If you’re having a pre-Christmas clear out of any pre-loved books, toys, games or teddies, then PLEASE send them into school.

After school club have been getting crafty too and will also be selling those brilliant xmas eve box fillers – Hot choc cones and reindeer food.

Our fabulous Friends of School will once again be providing refreshments and a fun game – Tinsel Pull.

We are hoping Mrs Middleton will be joining us with a stall full of her gorgeous homemade craft. We also have an additional Xmas Tree Sparkle stall and space for a few other stalls if you know of anyone who might like to join us for the event. Please let Mrs Palmer know.

Pupils will be helping on stalls and/or taking part in our Christmas club with Coach Jack in Class 2, however you can collect them when you arrive at school.

  • Wednesday 13th and Thursday 14th December – Christmas Play ‘Fireside Nativity’

ALL pupils have now been allocated a part. Class 3 have ALL been given a script which includes their character, costume and lines to be learned. Please encourage them to read and learn their lines at home. Script reads DO count as home reads and can be recorded in the reading logs. They are their only copies and so will need to come back in to school EVERYDAY as we have very precious time allocated in school to rehearse and do read throughs.

Class 1 and Class 2 teachers should have let you know which role your child is playing and given SIMPLE costume ideas. We do have plenty in school so please talk to us if there’s anything you need.

ALL performances will be at the village hall.

Wednesday evening performance – please ensure children are at the hall by 5pm.

Thursday afternoon performance – we will be walking the children to the hall. The performance will start at 2pm.

We will be adding play song links to the website so that your children can access these for any keen beans wishing to practise further.

Mrs Palmer is currently working on tickets. These will be accessible via ParentMail, so please keep an eye out for a notification from her.
